Privacy policy
How Akantha Labs handles personal data on akanthalabs.com, under Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1377 of 2013 (compiled in Decree 1074 of 2015). This site has no forms, no accounts, no ads and no cookies of its own.

What we process, why, and for how long
Emails you send us
- Data: your email address, your name if you give it, and what you write.
- Purpose: answering you and, if we work together, preparing and managing that work.
- Retention: while the conversation is useful for that, and afterwards for as long as tax and commercial law requires us to keep the records of a contract.
Our web server's technical log
- Data: IP address, date and time, the page requested without anything after the "?", response code and browser type.
- Purpose: keeping the site running and secure.
- Retention: the oldest lines are deleted automatically once the log reaches a fixed size, which at current traffic is a few weeks.
Visit counts
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies. It receives the page address without anything after the "?" or "#", load times and the browser version.
Service providers and international transfers
- Cloudflare (United States) delivers the site, protects it from attacks, counts visits and forwards the email sent to our address.
- Google (United States) hosts the mailbox our address forwards to.
Our own server is in Colombia.
Your rights
You can know, update and correct your data; ask for proof of your authorization; be told how your data is used; revoke your authorization or ask us to delete your data when there's no legal duty to keep it; and complain to the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio. Write to hola@akanthalabs.com. We answer questions within 10 business days and claims within 15 business days, as the law sets.
Our brands
eThorns, Carbonode, Enredadera and TufoTopies each have their own privacy policy on their own site, and it's the one that applies there.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top. Material changes are announced on this page before they take effect.
